Abstract

This paper focuses on the narrative research method applied in solving the problems of citizen journalism in Nigeria. Narrative literature review is the analysis tool used in this paper. Web of science and Google scholar were the main sources of data for this research paper. It is important to note that the paper focuses on the positive side of citizen journalism as well as the negative side. Citizen journalism allows both professionals and non-professionals the chance to create news content. However, the negative side of citizen journalism is that the information is not edited (there are no gatekeepers), therefore, lack of credibility. In this age of unlimited information, credibility is an important component of the process of information searching.
